Post by jdm »

This is a new build mini-ITX. I am having problems with the sound echoing with some distortion. This happens on the system sounds as well as applications.

Code: Select all

~ $ inxi _fx
CPU~Dual core Intel Pentium CPU G3420 (-MCP-) clocked at 800.000 Mhz Kernel~3.13.0-24-generic x86_64 Up~11 min Mem~475.8/3791.9MB HDD~620.1GB(25.9% used) Procs~152 Client~Shell inxi~1.8.4

~ $ inxi -A
Audio: Card-1: Intel Xeon E3-1200 v3/4th Gen Core Processor HD Audio Controller driver: snd_hda_intel
           Card-2: Intel Device 8ca0 driver: snd_hda_intel
Sound: Advanced Linux Sound Architecture ver: k3.13.0-24-generic

Re: Linux Mint 17 MATE 64 bit

After taking a break and having another search I found it listed as a bug affecting H97/Z97 motherboards using Realtek ALC1150 audio chipset I presume.

https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+sour ... ug/1321421

See post 35

Basically simple workaround but not simple for me to find it seems.

Hope this helps someone else.
