Stream computer audio to another computer

Postby Darkz0r on Sat Jul 05, 2014 3:41 pm

Hi guys,

Just moved recently from Windows to GNU/Linux recently, still figuring things out.
One thing that I particulary miss is the flashing notification of the apps on the taskbar, when you receive a message, for example. However, apparently, from what I've been reading this has to do with the apps itself and not the desktop environment I'm using.
This was useful when I wasn't near this computer, eg: at Work. It was easier for me to pay attention to my computer's screen, using a Remote Desktop application, like TeamViewer.
Anyway, I couldn't solve the flash notification thing, which mean I had to find some workaround... so I'm now using an alarm that whenever something pops up I receive a sound notification. Now guess what? I'm using Windows at work, and TeamViewer won't let me "Listen to remote audio" because, that feature isn't supported on Linux.

My question would be: How to transmit the audio from my computer to another on running Windows?

Thank you in advance!
