Problem with mplayer

Postby risoknop on Sun Sep 28, 2008 1:12 pm

Hi,

I have a problem with mplayer (sound). When I open mp3 song in it, it plays, but a weird error keeps popping up:

Code: Select all
[AO_ALSA] Unable to find simple control 'PCM', 0

or something like that, I'm not sure because it is blinking, it pops up and disappears and so on and so on, eventually whole system freezes.

Where could be the problem?

Not sure where the problem is. Tried a few things that I came across while searching with Google, but nothing that I had tried worked. Not sure if it makes a difference, but I'm running Elyssa XFCE.

Installed SMplayer, which is a frontend for Mplayer, and things works fine through that. You can read more about it here; http://smplayer.sourceforge.net/index.php?tr_lang=en I'm not at home right now, but I believe SMplayer can be found through Synaptic. Don't take my word for it though, my memory's not THAT good. :?:

Hope this helps.
