Audio! Ack!

So, I installed the latest Mint KDE last week. But no sound. On anything. Even the "test" function in the settings doesn't produce any audio.

What is stranger is that audio is just fine when I boot into Ubuntu Hardy. I've attempted to research this, but often see solutions that require bios changes --- changes I hesitate to make since Hardy works find under the same bios settings.

Anyone have any ideas? I'm stumped here.
