The latest edition of VLC has a problem. Despite the box "Integrate video in interface" in preferences being ticked the two are still seperate. Much like MPlayer.
The controls no longer pop up when in full screen mode.

Sorry, I realise it is just a statement. The intent was to advise others against updating until a fix has been found.
The VLC team are aware of the problem.
