Soundproblem with Logitech Z-10

Postby Graablick on Wed Dec 03, 2008 6:32 pm

I got a pair of Logitech Z-10 speakers that i use when I'm home. There's no problem playing music, all the sounds rans throught the speakers. But when I'm watching a movie or a youtube video the sound rans througt the laptop speakers. Does anyone know what to do?

I'm pretty new with linux.

Linux Mint is funded by ads and donations.

I'm pretty sure this has nothing to do with the speakers and I think it is a bit odd
Check all settings for sound (double click the speaker next to the clock) and settings in the players
There may be a way to select output if you have both internal and external speakers - don't know for sure I'm on a desktop now.
For starters which version of Mint exactly?
Which laptop and more importantly which hardware in the laptop
Run lspci in a terminal and post the result

This is ICH8 and there have been a bit of a problem with that and sound as you can find if you search the forum for ICH8
This is something that helps in a lot of cases

Of course you can't use model=acer and I doubt compal is an option so use model=auto
This is of course not pulse audio but it seems it works in Elyssa and Felicia anyhow
