First time here. I'm a newb with a dual boot doze 8.1 and 17.1
I'm trying to figure out how to get my sound card to switch to
or otherwise connect to the USB input.
Did a bit of googling, does this solve my problem?
http://askubuntu.com/questions/113704/m ... dio-device
If so, I'd really appreciate a step-by-step guide. If not, any other ideas?
Have tried restarting with dongle in
The set works fine on 8.1
Cheers, Tim

Re: Logitech h600 wireless headset
I don't think that script will help if the device isn't connecting in the first place.
First try plugging it in and entering
lsusb
into terminal and seeing if it's listed.
Also in terminal enter
sudo aplay -L
to see if it recognizes the sound card.
If it recognizes it try:

Re: Logitech h600 wireless headset
I have the H800. For me the solution is this:
Plug in the USB adapter
turn on my headset
hear the "beep" followed by the "boop beep"
In the system tray, use the audio icon to switch output to anything (this forces the menu to refresh)
go back to the the system tray audio icon and switch to the Logitech H800

Hi
I might be missing something, but when I try the audio icon there is no option to switch output, just to mute output or input
Configure doesn't show anything extra, either
Re: Logitech h600 wireless headset
Solved.
Turned out to be absurdly simple/silly.
I followed the procedure of pairing in windows, just in case, tho
the Logitech setup guide says they already come pre-paired.
I'd looked in system settings for "sound" and not seeing
anything assumed there was no access :-} Then had the
dawn-upon-me idea of searching "sound" and it popped up
(I hadn't noticed but it's also there in settings.)
The headset was listed as an analogue output/input and already
highlighted. When I remove the dongle it disappears from the list
& reappears when reinserted. Have added sound to the panel
in case I need to easily switch preferences.
Thanks to you both for your help

Re: Logitech h600 wireless headset
d'oh. Yeah, sorry. There's a submenu or something in the tray icon. I dropped my LM machine so I can't check exactly what that is, but the process is more or less what I've done in the past.
Glad you got it sorted!

Re: Logitech h600 wireless headset
Ouch There's a "configure" option in the tray icon but it doesn't take you to the nitty-gritty.
Thanks again
