Encrypted DVD playback?

Postby blender on Sun Feb 08, 2009 7:14 pm

I just installed Linux Mint 6 (i686) and updated to the latest packages.

I'm trying to playback an encrypted DVD and the Movie player throws me:

The source seems encrypted, and canot be read. Are you trying to play an encrypted DVD without libdvdcss?

But libdvdcss2 is installed. What gives?

Am I missing something?

Thanks in advance.

Cheers

First off - do you have the right DVD region set?
There is a little app called regionset you can use to check and change this

Don't fix it if it ain't broken, don't break it if you can't fix it

Did you do this as well?
sudo /usr/share/doc/libdvdread3/install-css.sh
