i i went from 10 years of windows to ubuntu a month ago, then lost sound when they updated. on the ubuntu forum someone said linux mint worked out of the box, so i'm trying it, but still no sound. i followed all the faqs and posts on getting sound to work in ubuntu for 2 weeks and see it's the same info for linux mint. i'm just looking for any operating system with working sound now.

Linux Mint is funded by ads and donations.

Linux Mint 7 “Gloria” RC1

Important information and known issues:

"As an RC (Release Candidate) this release is targeted at developers and beta-testers who want to help Linux Mint find and correct bugs before the stable release. Please do not use this release as your main desktop."

Its always a good idea to "test drive" any new OS by making and using a "Live" cd or dvd before installing.

Try Linux Mint 5 Elyssa (Long term support) or Linux Mint 6 Felicia....
