Well not the best solution but edit rc.local

Code: Select all

gksu gedit /etc/rc.local
Just before exit 0 add your command

Yes it would be run at startup but the value should be kept
Oh dang - does this this start xine and not only set the value? I get a "not found" message if I try this, xine not installed
You should not run applications as root especially not those that connect to the internet

Ah - I've never had to use it so I thought it just changed the priority - should have checked :)
A script that starts as you start an application is another matter
Do you really need to use sudo?

OK - I only heard of nice until now - never tested it
I doubt there is a way to have xine start with higher priority by default - at least I did not find anything in that way
