INstalling TAscam US-122

Postby Robinato on Mon Jul 13, 2009 5:21 am

Hi,

I am trying to install my US-122 using https://help.ubuntu.com/community/TASCAM_US-122 these instructions.
When it comes to step 6 I'm stuck:

# sudo fxload -s /path/to/ld2-ezusb.hex -I /usr/share/alsa/firmware/usx2yloader/us122fw.ihx -D /dev/bus/usb/002/003

It'll say:
/ld2-ezusb.hex: unable to open for input.

What am I supposed to type in for "path/to"? Or where is the mistake? Sry, I am an absolute beginner.

Linux Mint is funded by ads and donations.

Does step # 5 work, show anything..
Step 5: Retrieve USB Information
NOTE: Make note of the bus and device for the TASCAM US-122 that is outputted from the following command:
# lsusb
EXAMPLE: Note that it may not be the same output as you receive. Bus 002 Device 003: ID 1604:8006 Tascam US-122 Audio/Midi Interface

# means you used sudo in the Terminal or became root sudo -su

IN step 5 it says:

Bus 001 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002 Linux Foundation 2.0 root hub
Bus 004 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Linux Foundation 1.1 root hub
Bus 003 Device 003: ID 1604:8007 Tascam US-122 Audio/Midi Interface
Bus 003 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Linux Foundation 1.1 root hub
Bus 002 Device 003: ID 047d:101f Kensington PocketMouse Pro
Bus 002 Device 002: ID 1241:1503 Belkin Keyboard
Bus 002 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Linux Foundation 1.1 root hub

I understand, that 003/003 is the usb input of the tascam. But in step 6 I get:

sudo fxload -s /ld2-ezusb.hex -I /usr/share/alsa/firmware/usx2yloader/us122fw.ihx -D /dev/bus/usb/003/003
/ld2-ezusb.hex: unable to open for input.

I don't know what teh "path/to" means.

TY 4 help
