Streaming Windows Media Video 9 (Eurosport player)

Hi,

I'm trying to get the Eurosport player to work - it's a live subscription feed (Tour de France)

http://video.eurosport.es/eurosport-pla ... aming.shtm

(stream is mms://livestream-player.eurosport.com/nogeo/console/_!/eurosport_spanish_standard_doubleauth.wsx? )

Video Codec - Windows Media Video 9
Audio Codec - Windows Media Audio 9
48 kbps, 44 kHz, mono (A/V) 1-pass CBR

I'm using Mint 6 XFCE, Firefox 3, with VLC, MPlayer and the W32 codecs (AFAIK) all installed.
I get a black video window with a play button to begin with - clicking play just makes the window disappear. All the non-live videos work, it's just the stream.

Anyone have experience of these things? Don't care if I watch it embedded or in VLC etc.

Cheers
Bob

Which country ??
--it is only available in specific locations, otherwise it won't work..
  • Totem could not play 'mms://livestream-player.eurosport.com/nogeo/console/_!/eurosport_spanish_standard_doubleauth.wsx
There is no input plugin to handle the location of this movie
--your stream link..

Probably you will need to have someone within your own country or another that has access to the Eurosport player troubleshoot its operation/functions..

Hi Dr, thanks for the reply. I'm in Spain, using the Spanish Eurosport site, have paid the subscription (it was about €5 for the month, so it's not the end of the world if I can't get it to work). I don't *think* it's a location issue, as I can watch the stream on a windoz machine at work.
