Won't play encrypted DVD / libdvdcss2 is installed
Posted: Tue Jul 28, 2009 5:42 pm
I'm using Mint 7 x64 on a brandnew notebook Asus X5DIJ-SX018L. One of the issues with that combination is, that it only plays non-encypted DVDs, but not encrypted DVDs. Totem Video-Player 2.26.1 says that the source seems to b e encrypted and it looked as if I tried to play an encrypted DVD whithout libdvdcss. But libdvdcss2 v 1.2.10-0.2 is installed! Synaptic reports no conflicts, the required libc6 is here too. The builtin drive is a Matshita DVD-RAM UJ880AS.
or with an other DVD:
Why does the system not use libdvdcss? Please tell me which information I shoud provide and how I can retrieve it.
