Can't play any music, everything freezes.

Postby ToastyMallows on Thu Aug 27, 2009 1:13 am

I recently went from Ubuntu 9.04 to Linux Mint 7. I'm loving it so far. I just ran into a problem where I can't play any music. It's really weird as it was just working this monring and now at night nothing works. When I hover my mouse over a MP3 file, no sound. Double click it and open it in Movie Player, it freezes. Try to play any of my music in RhythmBox, it freezes. Has anyone else encountered this?

I went through the topic "If you are having trouble with media click here" but it didn't seem to help. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Linux Mint is funded by ads and donations.

Wow I just figured out the problem.

It seems that all of that happens when I have a skype call going at the same time but when I don't everything is back to normal.

So is this a skype problem, a LM problem, or both?

Are you using OSS?
"In somnis veritas"
Antivirus or defragging?
