IR remote help! was working, now nothing

I have a Snapstream firefly mini IR remote that I can not seem to get working with LIRC. The remote originally worked for volume +/-/mute but nothing else seemed to work. I installed LIRC and downloaded a config file for my remote from here http://lirc.sourceforge.net/remotes/sna ... refly-Mini and put it in place of the empty one, restarted LIRC and now nothing works. When i restarted LIRC it said everything was [ok]. Any ideas on how to fix? either restore to mint original working setup without LIRC or configuring LIRC. Thanks

It may work in Linux with the 3rd party X-10 driver if you can google to find those you may be able to get the whole thing to work.
