Convert MPEG4 to SWF?

Postby Chipfryer on Fri Feb 12, 2010 9:01 am

Hi folks I've been trying to find a way to convert Mpeg files, namely 4 to SWF format for embedding online. I see that Package manager no longer carries FFMPEG, just documentation.

Where can I find it now please or is there another way to do this?
I did download the package in a 7zip file format and have unpacked it but I've no idea what to do next?
Any help please?

Thanks.

Thanks Rich. :D
@ Mark. Very helpful

I don't see the version you have Rich. I'm running Mint 7.
3:0 svn20090303 is listed and apparently was installed though it didn't show up under 'Sound & Video'.
just reinstalled that version, still cannot see under the above.

Thanks anyway, no worries.
Cheers.

Folks.
On both Mint 7 & 8
I install FFMEG but it just doesn't show in sound & Video. Is there a way to add that to the list manually please?

Thank you.

If you had read the links I provided to you, you would have noticed that ffmpeg is a command-line tool. Soooo, you run it from the terminal !

If you want a GUI, then install winff
