I'm running Mint Helena on a Inspiron Laptop. Audio CD's play just fine, Youtube video sound works perfectly but when I download a MP3 file and doble click it the Mplayer or VLC window opens and I get a woman's voice saying MP3 is incomplete, please go to www. (get or gate can't understand her)Mp3.com open your web browser press enter.
Does anyone know what this message means, are there some MP3 codecs I need to download from somewhere?? Thanks in advance for any help.

Remoulder, what do you mean Links? There are no links given, there is no further info given at all. I get that weird half audible message I referenced in the original post. I have gone to both www.getMP3.com and www.gateMP3.com, there is nothing at either of these websites that indicate any further instructions or info regarding this problem.

I downloaded from Frostwire and prior to that I haven't downloaded from anywhere but the Mint repositories. This setup is a brand new version of Mint, so is this kinda like a virus?

I had to delete chrish4161's post from this thread as it contained a spam link in the signature.
