help playing format files
Have you made sure Mplayer is configured? I fell foul of that today?
"For some reason Mplayer came up without audio or video configured, on my box after installing KDE,
Right click on screen, select configure, select video
output, and audio output (x11 and alsa in my case)
Plays BBC, C4 News, and everywhere I have tried. "

Not sure about your format but plays everything I have tried
