wierd sound problem
ok i have linux mint 9 kde and when i use it i i have this strange sound glitch. i get the startup sounds and alert sounds and all. the sounds used by the system. but wwhenever i try to use an app with sound nothing comes out. any help?

perhaps the mixer or volume control is set to low or even mute?
try on terminal , type alsamixer <enter>, you should see the mixer and volume control, ensure raise them and see if sound is up when playing song or video.

thanks u actually made me remember the problem. had the same problem with kubuntu i have to move pcm to a nonzero number. thx man lolz
