Odd Error While Playing DVDs...

Hey guys...

I just recently installed Mint Linux, and I am in love ;) I tried playing a DVD on it, since I know it has all the codecs by default, and was excited for 3 seconds, but then the image lagged, and never played again. I get an error asking: "Are you trying to play a dvd without dvdcss" or something like that. What should I do? Any suggestions?

Start adept and search for libdvdcss

Is it installed?

Try a different player (if you are using Totem try Mplayer).

VLC is generally considered to be the best media player. DVD playback in Linux is still not well supported because there is no dedicated DVD player software. Often if one player doesn't work for you, another will. The default player is usually Totem, and Mplayer is installed as well. VLC can be added with apt, Synaptic, or the software portal.

Aloha, Tim

VLC worked perfectly. No need to find the .libdvdcss (or .dvdcss) folder.
