Hi
When using Mint (Bianca) with the live cd and with Gnome installed I can watch BBC news, and C4 News using Firefox with Mplayer, However after installing KDE, my preferred desktop, neither work in Firefox, any ideas please?
I use apt-get intall KDE. I did cure this in earlier editions but cannot remember how (symptom of very old age started on PDP11/03 with Fortran in 1974)

Mplayer streaming video problem after installing KDE
For some reason Mplayer came up without audio or video configured, on my box after installing KDE,
Right click on screen, select configure, select video
output, and audio output (x11 and alsa in my case)
Plays BBC, C4 News, and everywhere I have tried.
I think it was me being thick!
