5.1 surround 5.1 not working solved

im using amarok to play music i can go into settings and click on 5.1 surround click apply and it doesnt work am i missing something that needs to go with it to work my audio card is built into motherboard and is realtrek ac97

the code didnt work husse and got my sound card wrong just changed mother board and it is nvidia this is what came up in konsole when i ran the code you give me

I have the exact same nvidia sound and it works fine with 2.1, but I'm simply not sure if it works with 5.1
And you have to use some other output connector than the simple stereo phone (there probably is one but I can't remember what they are called, with coax or fibre)

im using kmix on 4.0 beta had trouble getting 5.1 surround working found thati had to set in amarok under settings (engine) to 5.1 and then in kMix i had to click on the tab Switches and then click Duplicate Front to get it to work
