I have a fresh, minty install of LM that is just yare. And I wish I could successfully download and install HandBrakeCLI from http://handbrake.fr/ without screwing up my LM 5.0 system. The installation uses jam, and it's real nice, spiffy. But it downloads and installs many mysterious dependencies. I wonder if it will trash my system.
How can I find out without risking corrupting my LM 5.0 install? I also have reason to believe that http://www.getdeb.net/ also has rather incompatible ubuntu apps. I have a nice system. It has a web browser, CD/DVD burner, email client, and much more. As long as I stick to the standard packages in the normal repos, I will have a good life.
Any suggestions, comments?
