Libxvid not found

Hello. I have been trying to install ffmpeg, first i did it using the software manager , but I realized that it was installed without libxvid , therefore I tried to install it manually, but when i run ./configure this message appears: libxvid not found. I tried again with ./configure --enable-libxvid and many other configuration parameters but still doesn't work. What can I do?

Try installing the development package for it:
sudo apt-get install libxvidcore-dev
