Useless volume control in browser

Hello,

I'm running Mint 12 GNOME on my laptop from last sunday and I experience a problem with the audio sources in all the browser I installed (i.e. Chrome and Firefox): I can't control the volume using the bar of the top right indicator (like I was used with Mint 11) , but only by the source in the web browser. In particular, if i put the volume to zero in the bar, there is no audio, but when is not zero is always the louder possible.

I hope that someone can understand what I wrote and help me.

Up.
I'm having the same problem right now, with Mint 12 GNOME and an Asus Xonar DX sound card. Everything does work well, there's just this major annoyance that the volume in the browser can't be controlled by the regular system bar. It's either no sound or 100% volume, except if you control it via the browser (e.g. with the bar in a Youtube video).
Anyone can help?
