VLC ALSA audio output settings reverts to default on reboots

Postby Jags_FL on Sun Apr 15, 2012 2:08 am

I'm helping a senior citizen here, 'cause if it was for me I wouldn't mind resetting VLC audio output settings every time after a reboot. As highlighted in attached screenshots, even though I have SAVED the ALSA audio output to "HDA Nvidia: HDMI 0 (hw:1,7)" many times, evry time after a reboot, it goes back to "Default".

The setup is, an HDTV connected to the PC via HDMI, so when VLC reverts ALSA audio output to default, there's no sound on TV. Is there any way to prevent VLC from doing this?

Many thanks in advance.
