NVidia

Postby beacher_pille88 on Sun Apr 29, 2012 1:25 pm

Hi there,

Im a completly Newbie in Linux, but I want to learn it. So I installed and configured Linux Mint 12 Lisa on my Thinkpad T420.

Im nearly ready and can use it for my study or private life. But there is still one problem: I cant work with my Nvidia NVS 4200M :-(

I tried a lot of ways to get it work:
- Downloading the driver and installing it manually --> as a result, I had to reinstall the whole system :D
- using Software-Manager to use nvidia-binaries --> result: no change
- using additional Software-Sources: "ubuntu-x-swap" or something like that --> result: Gnome3 didnt work any more and I had to use "Avoiding Mode"

Can you help me please??
thanks

Linux Mint is funded by ads and donations.

Isn't the built-in "Additional Drivers" tool offering appropriate drivers?
