Wacom Intuos 4 - Pressure Sensitivity

Postby sanguinary00 on Mon Apr 30, 2012 11:25 pm

Hi, I'm a new Linux user. I've got the latest version of Linux Mint, and I'm just barely getting comfortable with it. I've got a Wacom Intuos 4 tablet that works, but when I start up GIMP, it doesn't register pressure sensitivity, just acting like a regular mouse.

I'm not very familiar with Linux yet, but I'm wondering how difficult it will be to fix this. I'm using an HP Pavilion G-series laptop that I installed Linux Mint over Windows because my Windows 7 install crashed and I wanted to try something different.

Thanks!

Linux Mint is funded by ads and donations.

Hi sanguinary00,

You need to configure the extended input devices in Gimp. Go to Edit > Preferences > Input Devices > Configure Extended Input Devices. Then in Configure Input Devices on the Device drop down chose the stylus and for Mode select Screen. Do the same for the eraser and then Save and you should have pressure.
