First of all let me begin with stating this, everything has to work on my laptop, i just hate it if there is something there that doesnt, it bugs me.
So right now I am bugged by the fact that my webcam isnt working.
Im pretty new to the whole linux thing so if any explanations are given please write it step by step
My laptop is a Sony Vaio VGN-FE31Z Running Linux Mint 12 (lisa) I believe the camera model is PCG-7R1M although im not 100% sure.
When I installed Mint the camera seemed to work (Although Skype wasnt isntalled, only on the part when it askes you to take a picutre of yourself) However Im thinking this is some kind of generic driver that Skype does not recognise. Absolutely years ago, I managed to get the webcam ot work on Ubuntu, Ive searched high and low for the article i read that explained it to me but I've had no luck doing that either, nevertheless i know its possible.
Your help will make my day haha.
Cheers all
Regards
Jordan
