Slick on Dell laptop, sluggish on Asrock/AMD

I have Mint 12 running like greased weasel sh*t on my Dell Inspiron 1545 with 1.8GHz Celeron processor (I think) but when I installed on an Acer with new Asrock mb + 3.8GHz AMD Dual core wizz bang thing it grinds along like it was steam driven.

Same wireless network, doing the same kind of stuff.

Any ideas what could be slowing it down?
