Just before trying out Mint 13 Maya I change my video card to:
PNY VCQ2000-PB Nvidia Quadro 2000 Workstation Graphics Card - 1024MB GDDR5, PCI Express 2.0 x16, Dual Display Port, DVI Model#: VCQ2000-PB
and to my surprise, even the installation didn't run. The first screen came up, in wrong size, then just a hyphen blinking on the screen while the DVD was crunching in the DVD drive. It never even ran the installation at all. No error messages, nothing.
I then tried Ubuntu 12.04, then Ubuntu 11.10 and same thing ...
The card works fine in Windows, with either through the DVI or Display Ports. Computer is Dell XPS Studio 9100, i7, 6gig ram.
The whole idea changing the card from the original ATI Radeon HD 5770 was to have a Linux compatible card as all my Nvidia cards have been in the past.
Any ideas?
Thank you,
Hannu
