HDMI sound

Postby hermannelson on Fri May 18, 2012 11:28 am

I have just installed Mint 13.Great Release !!!!!!!! HDMI sound quits working when TV is turned off and than on again. I have to pull the HDMI plug and plug it in again to get it the TV sound back. Older versions did not have this problem. You simply turned on the TV and switched the output on the sound preferences. The sound is now not recognizing the TV is turned on?

Any ideas would be much appreciated,

My HDMI sound is not working as well. Using Linux Mint 13 (Maya) MATE 32 bit. Really frustrated as it worked perfectly on 12. This is a deal killer as I use my HDMI port a ton. Video works but poof no sound. The only sound is coming from the internal laptop speakers and not the TV.

Initially I thought it was due to the lack of nvidia-settings. But now I am at an absolute loss as to what is going on.

Hmmm I am using 12 and it works fine.. I was thinking of upgrading to 13 now, but after reading this topic I think I will wait a bit longer.

With the updates for Maya 13 RC, finalizing it into the full release, I receive and update today, fixing this issue. Fixed the sound for my AMD Radeon HD 6450 HDMI sound.

You can always test the distribution on a live media too! See if it works out the box, so you don't need to "risk" anything.

(Finding that this release seems more fluent and stable thus far!)
