Epson sx415 scanning driver

Postby marsh20 on Tue Jun 12, 2012 5:02 am

Hi all,

Probably ought to be in the Neebie section, but here goes.

I've been trying to get my Epson sx415 "all-in-one" to scan but to no avail.

I have gone to the Avasys website and downloaded and extracted "I think" the package(s) but don't seem to be able to do the last bit.

Am running 13 mate.

Linux Mint is funded by ads and donations.

You should have a DEB file/package for the scanner - make sure you didn't download the RPM version. A DEB can be double-clicked to install.

Albert,

Many thanks, I think I've installed but cannot find anyway to open/operate it.

You can use the "Scanning" program in the menu to scan.

An unofficial driver is there out-of-the-box, so maybe you don't need Epson's driver at all.

Albert,

Thanks, yes that works. I was just after the "bell and whistles" that come with the Epson own software.
