Does Minit Restore Config Files After a Crash and Reboot?

Postby buzzingrobot on Thu Jul 05, 2012 12:27 pm

Is Mint 13 setup tp restore certrain configuration files after a crash? If so, how do I turn that off?

I placed setup details for my Logitech Marble Mouse in /usr/share/X11/xorg.conf.d/10-evdev.conf. Later, I was forced to reboot after an "alt-f2 r" crashed the desktop. After the reboot, the mouse was working improperly. A check showed 10-evdev.conf had been restored to its original state.

I think config files gets restored to a default file if the system/program can no longer find or read the config file you had. Maybe there is something in the logg about this. Also, you modified a file in /usr/share/ and this is a place where the package manager is active so maybe this can happen if this default config file is later modified in the package and you do an upgrade.
