DVD/CD drive won't write

I'm trying to burn the KDE ISO mini to CD or DVD. I've gotten errors in both Brasero and K3B. In K3B, the program says "no CD/DVD writer found." Brasero just says no disk. I can read disks but not write to either CD or DVD. I know the drive is working as I burned my Daryna CD from this laptop.

Specs ... I'm running Daryna Gnome on an HP Pavilion laptop. The drive is a Toshiba DVDW/HD TS-L802A. I'm not sure what else is needed. Thanks!

I read you as you can't burn that ISO but you can burn other stuff - or is it a general error?

Sorry for the confusion. No, I can't write anything at all from the drive in Mint. It does read the drive, it just treats it as a plain DVD/CD drive not one that can burn too.
