No USB Devices listed

Postby AvanOsch on Fri Sep 21, 2012 4:09 pm

Hi all,

I have some USB devices connected to my Acer Aspire.
Some of them work (Mouse 'n stuff), others don't (Key-Dongle, and other "Special" hardware)

When I open "System Information" --> "USB Devices" absolutely nothing is listed.
Also when using Wine or VirtualBox (to use that "Special" hardware I was talking about), no USB devices are detected (so I can't, for example, add them to my VirtualBox)

Strange thing is, my (USB) mouse is working just fine, and ALL connected devices DO show up when I use "lsusb" from the terminal...

Am I missing something here?
Thanks for your response!

I am having a similar problem (specifically with my printer). My mouse and external drives are working fine, and everything (including the printer) are listed with lsusb ... but nothing is showing up under "USB Devices" (and I can't get my printer to be recognized).

I'm curious if you ever resolved your problem.

Thanks,
Greg
