I have recently rebuilt this PC and installed Mint after years of use of M$ windows from 3 through to 7. As such I am a Linux novice, even though my first contact with computers was in 1969.
My LG monitor is connected to the system via a KVM as I have 3 other computers.
When I restart the Mint PC, it detects the monitor, so long as the KVM port is switched to the Mint PC and i comes up with the correct resolution of 1920x1080.
If I am connected to another PC when I switch on the Mint PC, the PC will start with a resolution which the monitor cannot handle. If whilst using the Mint PC I switch to another PC, for long enough for the Mint PC to lock, when going back to it, the resolution has changed to 1400x1050. Making Mint detect displays will switch it to the correct resolution. If I lock the PC first, then switch computers, the Mint PC resolution remains at 1920x1080.
Is there a way, in which I can tell Mint to always use the correct resolution?
Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.
