No sound after new GFX card install

Hi All,

Swapped out an ATI X850XT PE for a Radeon ATI 4770 today using Mint 13 Maya with the Cinnamon desktop.

Now I have no sound. I checked all the sound settings and everything seems set as normal but I have no sound in videos or otherwise.

Tried everything I know which admittedly isn't much but everyhting seems set as it should be.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, I searched but did not find anything that helped

Are you connecting your monitor via HDMI? If so it might be sending sound out to your monitor instead of the speakers.

This is what I've done when my audio was messed up.

pacmd list-sinks | grep "name:"
pacmd set-default-sink SINKNAME

Make sure you don't include the less then < and greater than > brackets.
