syncing error...

A friend of mine wanted me to fix her computer, because it was blue screening giving me a 'page fault' error. So I replaced the RAM, hard drive, and power supply (the last one wasn't because of the BSoD), but now the system is giving me a 'kernal panic: not syncing', when I try to boot into the linuxmint liveCD. Is that something wrong with the system bus on the motherboard, or will I have to replace the CPU...?

I know this isn't exactly a LinuxMint problem, but I trust you guys more then any other forums.

I have very limited time right now
Go through the hardware slowly and carefully, check that all cables are in and also all cards are in their slots
Also google kernel panic so you get a grip on why it appears
