I'm using a macbook pro and have not had a problem with it since configuring synaptiks about 8 months ago.
Suddenly without me having run a recent update or changed my touchpad settings in any way, my touchpad went nuts.
If I hover over anything clickable for any length of time, it would open the application or link around 100 times.
I updated synaptiks using the package manager, which slowed the error down some, now it only seems to open one of whatever it is and is slightly more maneuverable, but I effectively can't use tabbed browsing or right-click anything.
Rebooted into OSx and the mouse works fine, so I know it's not a hardware issue. Using a usb mouse also works fine, but I'd prefer to actually solve the problem and not sidestep it.
Tried messing with the settings in synaptiks and in mouse settings, lowered sensitivity to max. Can't find any information on this issue, closest I could come was a touchpad that was generally not working at all.
