Try and install Kaffeine, I don't know how much KDE packages it will pull, if you're using the main edition. I'm using Linux Mint 13 KDE and was surprised to find out that my Terratec DVB-S2 card was recognized automatically, perhaps drivers/firmware were/was added to the newer kernel releases? Install Kaffeine and open up the Digital TV section, there go into Television >> Configure Television and if there's a device tab available, I believe you'll be able to scan at least the DVB-T signal.
