touchpad problem after removing few input and graphic driver

Postby grishi111 on Sun Nov 04, 2012 1:31 am

hi everyone. i wanted to remove few unnecessary display and input drivers.
i confirmed that removing xserver-xorg-display-all along with unnecessary drivers can be removed if specific driver e.g. xserver-xorg-display-intel is present.
and it worked. but at the same time i removed few input driver such as wacom driver and may be input-all have been removed with this.
now i am not able to move my mouse pointer...i am in HP laptop. i am also not able to connect mobile broadband as i am not able to mouse to the bottom panel.
so i am not able to install input driver, as it think this will solve my problem.
please help me with this problem. may be i have provided xserver-xorg- wrong, but sure its a similar name.
what should i do? Please help.

Hi grishi111,

You're correct. xserver-xorg-input-all and xserver-xorg-input-wacom have been mutually dependent for over two years. You can't install or uninstall one without the same thing happening to the other.

In Recovery Mode get to the command line and try running:
Code: Select all
sudo apt-get install xserver-xorg-input-synaptics

Hopefully that will get your touchpad back.
