Installing Third Part Library Into Linux Mint Lisa

Dear,

I am new to Linux Mint, and i have been given task to work with Linux Mint.
Running a .Jar application. and then configuring USB2Serial cable.
then Installing the specific drivers for that Cable.

In windows its simple. to install and use. but in Linux i m totally blank.
The particular System has no Internet facility as well.

Kindly guide me th exact method so i may follow.

i want to use this Cable in Linux Mint.

when i plug in cable. it shows RS-232 cable. while i use
>lsusb ....command..
but i can't use the Library
