HP Compaq 6710b; Continually flashing Network light

Hi, I have recently installed Linux Mint x86 on my old HP Compaq 6710b laptop. It's work fine, but I have one problem.
The network light continually flashing, this is extremely annoying. Is there someone who have a solution for this problem other than use a piece with paper and tape?

I am totally new in the Linux world so I need a very detailed explanation, thx.
