Linux Mint 14 Cinnamon Crashing when playing 720p on YouTube
Posted: Sun Nov 25, 2012 4:28 pm
Hi,
Linux Mint is freezing when i play 720p or 1080p videos on YouTube.
The only thing i can do when it's crashing is pressing the reset button on my pc.
The freeze is playing after approximately 2 minutes.
It also happens on other video sites, like Vimeo or DailyMotion.
I'm running Mozilla Firefox, but on Google Chrome it also happens (tried it). Had this problem also on Linux Mint 13 Cinnamon x64.
Now i have Linux Mint 14 Cinnamon x64 and the problem still exists. Also tried installing ubuntu 12.10, problem happened also.
When i play on 240p, 360p and 480p, It works fine. I can play videos on 240p, 360p and 480p for hours without a single problem or crash.
This is a fresh installation of Linux Mint 14. It's not an upgrade. I removed all partions before installing Mint Cinnamon 14.
I also tried with x86 Linux Mint, the same problem happens. (i can't use x86 Linux because i have a 64 bit CPU and 4GB of RAM).
With a x86 version not a my RAM is recognized.

Linux Version: Linux Mint 14 Cinnamon x64 'Nadia'.
Firefox Version: 17.0
Flash Version: 11.2 r202
