Toshiba Satellite Wireless Network problem

Long story short (hopefully!):

Installed Ubuntu and after hours and hours of trying, eventually gave up trying to install my wireless card. I switched to Linux Mint 14 (cinnamon) in hopes that the software and drivers necessary would be pre-installed, but no such luck.

I have a Toshiba Satellite s855-s5254 that has a Realtek RTL8723AE wireless card. I've read a few posts pertaining to installing various network drivers, but all of them seem a bit above my level of expertise. I'm clueless when it comes to "Terminal" command lines, and I can't find any posts that are designed for newbies that are as ignorant as I am.

Can anyone guide me through this step by step?
