Mint and Dell vostro 1000

Postby purdy on Sat May 03, 2008 2:44 pm

I bought a Dell Vostro 1000 to replace my aging X200 (running Debian Etch). Are there any issues in running Mint with the Vostro?

Thanks,

JP

I'm running Mint on a vostro 1500 with no problems, couple of issue's that were easily fixed.

You need to list your specs though for anyone to be able to comment properly.

I'm unable to help you with all but wireless as that is the same as mine.

Mine is intel and nvidia.

Could try the ubuntu forums and or just download Mint and try it, don't need to install it if you don't want to

Dear,

In Vostro1000 you are going to have 2 troubles:
a) WIFI
b) Compiz

It's so easy to fix it if you find the information....
I war running ubuntu 7.10 (mainly the same than mint4.0) and i could fix those problems following this: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=687071

cheers,
Josep
