Has anyone had any luck getting the Canon MX432 to scan under Linux?
I could not get it to even print until I upgraded to Linux Mint 14 MATE 32bit.
Now it prints fine but need to try to get the scanner function to work. It will
work with Vuescan, but I am installing this for someone else and $40 to buy
the sw is a bit much for their occasional use.
I get "Failed to open device 'pixma:04A9175B_814C64': Operation not supported"
when trying to use XSane ver 0.998.
Trying to use Simple Scan, I get "Failed to scan. Unable to connect to scanner"
Any thoughts that I might try to get this to work?
Thanks,
Mark

Re: Canon MX432 will print but won't scan: Linux Mint 14
Resolved: Found and loaded the scangearmp-mx430series-1.90-1-deb.tar.gz.
Followed the instructions here: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?p=12415128
Then copied the /usr/bin/scangearmp to the desktop so the user did not need to
run via command line in a term window. Now both the printer and the scanner work.
