Nasty black screen right before login

Hey guys/gals,

Ever since I got my Lenovo computer I've had this problem.
It boots like normal and right when it is about to switch to the graphical login it flickers and goes black.
It boots that way 5 or 6 times out of 10. I can fix the problem with fglrx but then I get weird graphical
glitches and that is another problem on its own. I've seen where the amd microcode is missing error,
it may be related to that.

Any idea on how I can fix this with some sort of grub parameter?
