Wireless problems

I installed linux mint 14 on a laptop sony vaio.

It has an Intel 5100 wireless network adapter. At first the internet was very slow so I tried to turn it off and on. But when I turned it off I couldn't turn it back on again. I searched googled and did rfkill and it was listed as blocked. I unblocked it.
Now the speed is ok but if I turn it off I have to do rfkill to turn it back on again because the network manager doesn't let me to turn it on.

I dislike this. Any way to fix it?
